Admired by his peers and idolised in Europe and overseas today; Ludwig van Beethoven is an influential musical figure, as well as an fascinating character to contemplate, whose story can be fantasised by all. In France, his contemporary Alexandre Pierre François Boëly was one of his first admirers and strong advocates : he was notably inspired by the op 9 trios when writing his three string trios op 5.
